year. all three indexes soared between 2 and 3 percent. it is likely the fiscal cliff lieu fore yaw soared today talking the next fiscal cliff about the debt ceiling and cut government spending. some investors remain bullish. as january goes so goes the year. we could see 10 percent returns for stocks in 2013 pending washington figures everything out. >> 2013 expecting to be good years for auto sales. >> auto americas are out for sales figures. expected to be good 14 and a half million for forecast of last year's sales. that would be the strongest performance since 2007. they will top 15 million this year. that will be led by big pickup trucks and helps pilots of new models coming to the market. that optimistic forecast hinges on washington reaching a deal. >> iphone 5 there are talks about the iphone 6 already.

the president's healthcare law saying quote the medical technology industry directly employs over 400,000 people in the state and 2 million high skilled manufacturing jobs. some senators argue from the senate floor against taxes and regulatio regulations. >> they go to places like europe because that process moves faster. >> most of those companies are operating on a 3 to 5 percent profit at the end of the day. you just took a 2.3 tax on revenue and turn it into a 40-60 percent tax on profit. >> companies argue the tax on sales will earn the young company. president of the medical device manufacturer's association says the tax will irreparably harm the job creation over 98 percent of the industry is made up over small businesses and many aren't

all of the conditions, the clauses that are involved and government benefits. it is really confusing. >> complicated or con volume luted. that's what i like to say. wireless zone also hiring. >> wireless zone. this is the largest private contractor for verizon wireless products. it's not verizon wireless but it's everything verizon wireless. sales associates, admins, management mostly along the eastern sea board is where the positions are in the midwest. we have about 430 locations 450 new jobs. again this is all about the data. this is where i think we will see a lot of new jobs in 2013 it will be technology everything is going to the phone. the kids don't even use computers any more. they don't use laptops they are on their phones constantly. we will see jobs in that arena coming this year. >> it's not verizon wireless it is an independent verizon

very quickly they have to make a lot of decisions, we have the debt ceiling standoff for the house first and foremost tecide is going to keep his job. he had to backtrack after being hammered for not pushing through the super storm sandy relief bilah americas from that region piling on. >> i am distraught i am angry. i am distraught because there are hundreds of thousands of people literally who need help who will not be getting it. i am angry because we were this close to getting this done and the rug was pulled out from under us by the leadership in the house.

you look at super storm sandy relief bill in and of itself. critics say it is loaded with 60 million from the epa study climate change issues, $348 million enamel track 188 million critics say that's far more than any damage that the rail service actually sustained. all of this is being done with borrowed money. speaking of borrowed money the next big battle for john boehner is going to be dealing with the nation's borrowing ceiling. the president is about to ask congress to raise the nation's debt limit piling on even more debt on top of the 16 trillion we already owe. there are a lot of fiscal conservatives republicans in the house who are going to urge boehner to really put up a fight and fight the president tooth and nail to try to get more in the way of spending cuts, cuts that they were not able to get in the fiscal cliff standoff. back to you guys.

photographer dead while trying to snap pictures of the pop star. start with the sad story. >> we know the name of the professor. 29-year-old chris gara was trying to get the money making shot of bieber driving his ferrari down the los angeles highway when he was hit and killed by a passenger's car. he claimed to have seen the singer smoking marijuana behind the wheel. turns out the pop star wasn't in the car. bieber release the a statement earlier saying while he was not print or directly involved in the tragic accident my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victims. it will inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities police officers innocent public bystanders and the photographers themselves. police don't believe the driver of the vehicle who hit the photographer is at fault and most likely won't face charges. you are making a lot of ladies happy with this next

66 days since this storm totally and completely ripped lives apart here and businesses shattered homes really did so much damage. people here need congress' help and yet it has been 66 days and no federal relief. they are hoping the initial sandy relief if federal aid was going to comic request and get their lives back on track. it was stalled in the house earlier this week. now comes word after a lot of infighting in the house between republicans and also between democrats, too, that this is going to come to a vote tomorrow. good news for a lot of the reds dents here in long beach. we are told $9 billion will be voted on tomorrow. that is money to go to the federal flood insurance program. he's not talking about the specifics about that. $9 billion on flood insurance this friday will be voted on and then on january 15th the full legislative day additional 51

elementary school to give students and staff a degree of normalcy if that is at all possible. it has been three weeks since that awful shooting back on december 14th. that killed 20 students and 6 adults there. dozens of people have been working to transform that school not only into an elementary school but a home where students can start to move forward. they have been cleaning up the building, painting to make it really look cheerful and happy. >> one part of the building that will look very familiar actually is the principal's. you will recall in part of the tragedy dawn hochsprung was juan of the first piem people to die. the principal was the principal
